The thrilling time has arrived when teams are prepared to demonstrate the abilities they have spent months honing. In keeping with their tradition of brilliance, 32 teams from throughout the country have made it to the oral rounds. The atmosphere at Law College Dehradun is so professional that it feels like soaring without wings, filling everyone with a sense of exhilaration and ambition. The moot problem is not only constitutionally sound but is practically rich in dealing with the different nuances of constitutional law across the world. The Problem deals with ongoing critical issues such as bulldozer justice and anti-defection laws. The wait is over! Lets witness the competition so long awaited.

11:35 AM: The moment everyone has eagerly anticipated has arrived! The arguments, honed and refined with each round, are now being presented in the courtroom. The Petitioner’s side has commenced its pleadings, with Speaker 1 striving to persuade the judges with their reasoning and advocacy to prove that the practice of “bulldozer justice” is unconditional and violates the Fundamental Rights of the people of Uttam Pradesh.
11:47 AM: The first issue dealing with constitutionality of bulldozer justice was well challenged by the petitioner. The counsel 1 of the petitioner claimed lack of notice by the respondents for illegal construction and demolishing his ancestoral property. Counsel well-defended the first issue emphasising on Rule of Law as ensurer of dignity of the individual and Separation of Power.
11:49 AM: The counsel 2 has approached the dice as counsel 1 has exhausted the time limit and therefore could not defend the issue 4.
11:54 AM: The counsel 2 dealt with the constitutionality of the anti defection law present in constitution stating it to be violative of 52nd amendment. He stated that parliamentary integrity lies in abiding by the manifesto of the constituency and there they defended the constituency rather than abiding by the whip.
11:57 AM: He further quoted the preamble and presented how it enphasises on the principle of democracy and how the power lies with the people of the country.
12:00 AM: The spontaneity of the questions of the judges was as swift as that of answering by the counsel making the competition more intense and worth watching.
12:05 PM: The counsel well articulated his arguments presenting the specific reference of para 2 (1) (b) of the 10th Schedule of the constitution and quoting the definition to be vague and inclusive that eventually leading to wide powers being handed over to the heads of the party.
12:07 PM: The counsel further challenged the decision of the deputy speaker referring to the para 6 of the 10th schedule which gives the power of disqualification only to the speaker of the parliament.
12:12 PM: The counsel further seek the remedy of creating a new quasi judicial body since the matter in hand cannot be dealt only by the speaker and the current procedure in hand is leading to the procedural lapse.
12:14 PM: The counsel 2 of the petitioner has submitted his prayer and counsel 1 of the respondents has approached the dice.
12: 23 PM: The counsel 1 has contented that the ancestorial property of the Salim was falling under the UPDA and anyway it has to be demolished and as far as the legality of the property is concerned the petitioner has not presented their documents.
12:26 PM: The counsel is not able to tackle the questions of the bench which is faster than the speed of light, even when the judges are leading him by putting words in his mouth. The counsel is beating around the bush.
12:30 PM: A clear tug-of-war between precision and persuasion unfolding in court room as the counsel, under mounting pressure, is rapidly exchanging chits with the researcher, strategizing responses as the judges intensify their questioning.
12:36 PM: A case is won in details not in drama this quote is clearly evident in the present pleading at hand since judges are clearly feeding him with the answers and directing him, and still he is not able to pickup up the hints.
12:43 PM: The counsel 2 has approached the dice defending the procedure of the election of speaker and deputy speaker by quoting the judgement of R.S. Nayak’s case.
12:52 PM: The counsel is contradicting her own arguments even after quoting landmark arguments she is not clear with the ratio decendi of her cases.
12: 58 PM: The counsel started pleading the 4th issue and not able to tackle the questions thrown at her by the bench. She could not complete her arguments within the time framework and moved to the prayer straight away.
01:05 PM: The rebuttal has started in the court room, lets see whether the defendant would be able to tackle the questions.
01:17 PM: The respondent could not keep up the pace with the questions thrown on them by the petitioner. The Valedictory Ceremony is scheduled at 3:00 PM till then stay connected.
02:31 PM: The most awaited moment has come, the three day journey is finally going to be officially concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony, moderated by the Krishna Negi and Vidhi Sharma.
2:33 PM: The Chief Guest for the Day, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mahboob Ali is being felicitated by Mr. Abhishek Joshi.
2:37 PM: The Guest of Honours, Mr. Aman Rab and Dr. Vikram Srivastava are being felicitated by the Prof. Dr. Rajesh Bhauguna. Mr. Ankur Yadav is being felicitated by Prof. Dr. Poonam Rawat. With the blessings of goddess saraswati ceremonial lamp is lighted by the dignitaries and Kulgeet of the university the ceremonial atmosphere became more calm although the teams were having adrenaline rush for the result.
2:53 PM: The Pro-Vice-Chancellor addressed the gathering by welcoming the dignitaries and paying due gratitude to all the participants from across the country. He further introduced the dignitaries who are exceptional in varies fields of legal fraternity.
2:05 PM: The ceremony continued by the address of Mr. Ankur Yadav Advocate On Record of Supreme Court of India who congratulated the participants of the competition followed by Mr. Aman Rab who showered his insightful thoughts upon the gathering and gave priceless feedback to all the team involved in organising the event and also appreciated the moot problem.
3:25 PM: The Chief Guest of the ceremony Hon’ble Justice Mehboob Ali begun his speech by appreciating the various authorities of the Uttaranchal University and the organising team of the Moot Court Society. He shed light on the various departments of legal field and focused on the topic of the Right to privacy and discussed the journey of the constitution making with various ups and downs. He was to much impressed by the organising of the event that he compared the moot court room with the High court room because of the level of discipline in the court room. He also appreciated the participants who reached the final round of the competition.
3:34 PM: He shared his life experiences with the budding lawyers and taught the importance of discipline in the life of the law students.
3:45 PM: Now the most awaited moment has arrived that is the declaration of the results of the 9th Inter University Moot Court Competition 2025…..stay tuned to know the winners of the grand event.
3:46 PM:TC 43 Llyod law college’s Shreya Mishra won the best researcher award and the best female researcher goes to TC 34 followed by the best Counsel Award to TC 38.
3:49 PM: In the same flow various awards are being given to the best deserving teams from various law colleges.
3:55 PM: Congratulations to TC 32 who bagged the Runner up award.
3:56 PM: And here comes the winner of this prestigious competition TC 53 who with their immense dedication and hardwork reached to this memorable day. Congratulations to all the members of the winning team.
4:00 PM: After all the tiring efforts and sleepless nights the winners made their way to the stage with the trophies in their hands
