National Inter-University Moot Court Competition

The Inter-University Moot Court Competition (LCDIMCC) is our premiere national event focused on the nuances of Constitutional Law. Designed to simulate real appellate proceedings before the Supreme Court of India, participants argue high-stakes constitutional questions before benches comprised of sitting and retired High Court Judges, Senior Advocates, and prominent jurists.

Smt. Sushila Devi Memorial Intramural Moot Court Competition

The Smt. Sushila Devi Memorial Intramural Moot Court Competition is the defining stepping stone for law students at Law College Dehradun. Unlike appellate moots, the Paperless Trial Advocacy Competition challenges participants on the ground rules of the Indian Evidence Act, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, and Code of Criminal Procedure. The competition is conducted completely digitally without physical paperwork, instilling sustainable legal practices.

An innovative, eco-friendly simulation focusing on original jurisdiction trial proceedings, witness examinations, evidence marking, and closing arguments.

Client Counselling is an indispensable real-world lawyering skill. Participants conduct an initial interview with simulated clients, extract crucial facts, comfort anxious litigants, identify substantive legal rights, and counsel them on alternative dispute resolutions, litigation risks, and practical next steps.

Testing interpersonal communication, active listening, and holistic client strategy in confidential lawyer-client interview scenarios.

Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been one of the greatest innovations of Indian jurisprudence. The PIL Drafting Competition invites students to research socio-legal injustices, establish locus standi, frame prayers for relief, and craft airtight writ petitions.

Inspiring law students to champion public welfare, environmental justice, and human rights through rigorous writ petition drafting under Article 32 & 226.

REAP (Research and Advocacy Programme) is the hallmark training initiative of the Moot Court Society. Conducted by senior members, alumni, and legal tech partners (SCC Online, Manupatra), it takes new law students through the mechanics of legal research, Bluebook/OSCOLA citation, memorial formatting, speech modulation, and handling judicial bench queries.
